We used the tractor to move logs from one place to another, loaded them on the homemade racks we made to peel them. In these pics Randy and boys peeling logs. Peeling is when you take the bark and onion skin layer off of them. Lower pics Aaron taken break after lunch, and all of us eating in last pic. We would go out at day break and work till lunch, cook lunch on smoker in woods then back to work till dark.

This will be a blog of the beginning to the end of Our Cabin On The Hill. This entire project is being done my family and I, with little help from the outside world. Determined to try our hand at building a Cabin, like the pioneers did.We struggled daily to complete this, fighting the weather, injuries, bugs who bite us,bugs who eat wood to blood sweat and tears. This is our story, started January 3,2003.
Enjoy,
all comments and advice are welcome.
Here is a pic of the ground breaking, then plumbing being put in forms, then formed up ready to pour. And finally we have concrete!
We would like to thank Justin Davis for all his help!
